holy shit:
goot:
twerkable:
eh:
hell nah bruh:
HOOD CLASSIC.... a (kinda) progressive breakcore (mashcore-esque?) album that is wonderfully arranged, almost every single sample goes hand in hand
my 2 fav tracks (track 4 and 1) illustrate this perfectly, everything (suprisingly, considering the source material) sounds like it was made to be put together (except for maybe that dumb dg sample in track 1 lole)
I can't tell where some tracks start and end when I listened to this album in one sitting which I also find really coo. im not even sure if the transitions are intentional
my only gripes with this album is the mixing and the pacing, sometimes breaks are wayyy too quiet and sound kinda compressed (almost like a king tiger track)
the pacing in this album also kinda stinks at times - track 6 and 9 do NOT need to be the lengths they are
im not sure whether to put this in the holy shit tier or goot tier bc I haven't reviewed enough albums (currently) to compare it to, so i may change that later
best trackz: A Lack Of Subtelty, This California Trio Doesn't Want To Be Cookie Cutter, You Are An Object and I'm 8 Years Old, The Weather's Warm, We're Driving To Hawaiian Falls, Nothing Can Go Wrong
NEAT002: DERANGED TEENAGE BRAIN - DERANGED TEENAGE BRAINa pretty alright album with some good ass parts and some less than desirable ones. I specifically detest the '''breakcore''' segments that are just some noisy break loop with barely any alterations to it whatsoever.
you can also tell that the breaks were time stretched to fit the bpm rather than pitched up which makes them sound pretty annoying
if it was purely a shoegaze/noise rock album i would've liked it much more (track 6 is so good oh my gah) oh and also i fuck with the ambient jams alot
best trackz: HOLOTROPHIC BREATHING, THE BEST YEARS OF YOUR LIFE and ENDLESSLY RUNNING THROUGH AN ENDLESS NIGHTMARE
NEAT003: Cyberbully - Z (responding to the recovery)bizarre remix album of a noise jam MTS AIRMASS made when he was in elementary. I have listened to a bit of cyberbully's other songs and they were swag af
unfortunately its pretty forgettable since most tracks are limited to samples that sound mostly the same. the only parts that really stood out to me was the guitar playing on track 7 and 4
best trackz: all of them were pretty average except for the first. i fr cannot choose one
NEAT004: Aeswa - Ways 2 die LPpretty damn good speedcore record which also may or may not be the first ever emcd release I have ever come across (i am NOT biased)
track 2 is actually one of my fav gabba tracks of all time its so fuckni good plz listen to it. the others are also pretty decent but arent NEARLY as good as track 2
I don't know how mr aeswa does it but the kickz are so damn satisfying to listen to. thank you for actually being good at mastering . thank you
the two things keeping this from being a 10/10 is the fact that its less than 30 minutes and the outro sounds like it was made in garageband live loops and has NO GABBA KICKZ!!!!! AT!!!! ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!
NO GABBA KICKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GAAAAAAAA fuck YOU (sorry aeswa i actually love you)
best trackz: Ways 2 Die (PLEASE LISTEN TO THIS ONE PLEASE), Removing Entrails and Bitch!
NEAT005: Various Artists - Sloppy Secondsa suprisingly fun album for what it is. im honestly p impressed at how interesting people make 30 second songs sound (although a good chunk sound like demos, probably because they are)
my single complaint is that it sometimes gets a bit repetitive as a single artist can have 2+ songs
also special fuck you to elijah zint track 10 FREAKED me out
best trackz: clutrrglych – Pencilhead, MTS AIRMASS – Another Outtake and Wenton – Double Digits
NEAT006: King Tiger - Hmm Neatone of the most bizarre things i have ever listened to. you legit cannot find anything that sounds like this (for better and worse).
unfortunately the programming on this album is pretty bland, four and the floor gabba kickz (the same kick EVERY time) w/ an amen pattern playing over it (the amenz are actually pretty well programmed though goot job).
the saving grace being the weird ass samples that make this album fun to listen to. the samples aren't manipulated in any way but i honestly do not care, they're still pretty fun to listen to
the thing pulling this album down the most is the mastering. it stinks. i would not call myself an audiophile but even i can hear the mp3 artifacting, which is strange bc all of this was made in fl studio (i think?) and you can easily export to flac
best trackz: 1700s Breakbeat Shanty, Potatoes, Move That Body and Eye of the King Tiger
NEAT007: 42 - BLACK TEETHjust a bunch of lapfox/halley labs stems sewed together into an awfully mixed album that is WAY too long (almost an hour and a half holy shit)
track 11 is the only track i actually enjoyed and (i think?) its the only one without lapfox samples, the singing is a really nice change of pace
NEAT008: ・゚✧(=✪ ᆺ ✪=) - ・゚✧ - The Amen Break, The Internet, And Other Ways To Waste Your Teenage Yearspretty good mashcore album, the sampling is pretty tasteful (kitsune^2 looooole). its pretty short and the tracklisting is very disjointed (dont get the need for 13 second tracks smh smh)
the mastering is pretty muddy but i dont think its possible to have a mashcore album without it. (especially on the 2 shitmixes)
best trackz: Based And Wafflepilled, Shitmix '21 and Hi Speed Neko Petting
NEAT009: CYBERBULLY - pains of futures presenthonestly a pretty forgettable album. better than the last CYBERBULLY release but still. what I remember hearing was good though, i think ill need to relisten to write a proper review lole.
NEAT010: MTS AIRMASS - Revelationssoon.
